Dr. Granit Almog- Bareket
Director, Mandel Graduate Unit
Dr. Granit Almog-Bareket is a Graduate of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership (cohort 14). Granit holds a Master’s degree in Educational Policy and Management from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Ph.D. from the IAE Business Management School at the Sorbonne University. Her thesis focuses on the impact of critical life events on the organizational vision of social and educational entrepreneurs.
Granit was a teacher and educator for 14 years and served as a teacher at the Agron Elementary School in Jerusalem and directed the Special Needs Domain at the Community Services Division in West Jerusalem. She also coordinated the Educational Policy Management program at the Hebrew University School of Education, as well as the Educational Forum program at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. She is the founding director of Healing with Hope, a volunteer-based organization that provides assistance and services to children who are hospitalized for prolonged periods. After completing her studies at the Mandel School for Educational Leadership she joined the Mandel Graduate Unit and was consequently appointed as Graduate Unit Director. She is currently studying for her post-doctorate degree at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University in North Carolina.

Prof. Haim Adler
Mandel Graduate Unit Faculty Member, Consultant and Instructor
Prof. Adler is a consultant for the Mandel Leadership Institute's Graduates Unit and is a contact person for alumni of the School for Educational Leadership. Prof. Adler is a professor Emeritus of Sociology and Education. He was the first director of the NCJW Research Institute for Innovation in Education at the School of Education of the Hebrew University, a role in which he served for about 20 years. Prof. Adler's main areas of research include education as a factor for social change and youth culture in modern society. In 2006, Prof. Adler received the prestigious Israel Prize for his work and research in education.

Michal Danon
Individual Consultations and Logistics Coordinator
Michal Danon has a bachelor’s degree in education from David Yellin College, with a
concentration in early childhood. She worked for 14 years at the Agron School, where she
served as a coordinator and as vice-principal and was one of the founders of the elementary school division. In the past few years she has worked on the production and design of special events, after having trained in this area in a two-year program of study at the Open University. Prior to joining the Graduate Unit of the Mandel Leadership Institute, Danon worked in advertising for the Jerusalem weekly Kol Ha’ir.

Ronen Goffer
Development Manager
Ronen Goffer holds an M.Sc. in Physics and a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is currently a Ph.D. student in political science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Mr. Goffer has had 15 years of professional experience in social and civic activities. He has established and engaged in leading entrepreneurial initiatives that have involved the establishment of international networks, governmental-civic sector partnerships and fund raising from multiple sources.
Over the past 15 years, Mr. Goffer has been engaged in the foundation of KOL-Active, the Israeli Center for Engaging Citizens in Governance and previously in the establishment of the Division for Participatory Democracy at the Haim Zippori Community Education Center. These initiatives were the first entrepreneurial attempts in Israel to engage citizens in decision-making and governance on a national level, and were aimed at reversing the (worldwide) trend of deteriorating government legitimacy due to citizens’ alienation. They included the import of innovative models of citizens’ participation from Denmark, Holland, the United States and elsewhere. Mr. Goffer has published several articles and books in the area of participatory and deliberative democracy. Mr.Goffer was the director of the first Van Leer Education Conference and of the International Workshop for Directors-General of Ministries of Education from 10 countries.

Dr. Odette Segal
Methodology, Knowledge Development and Evaluation Manager
Odette Segal-Sela has a BA in East Asian studies and Education and a MA Magna Cum laude in Special Education, both from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Her Ph.D. from the School of Social Work at Tel-Aviv University focuses on the "Predictors of Program Sustainability in the Social Sphere". Dr. Segal-Sela has extensive experience in research and has participated in a large scale study regarding school violence. Her experience in the field of education includes teaching children on the autistic spectrum to acquire social skills. Dr. Segal-Sela specializes in planning and executing evaluation processes in the social field as part of the perception of organizational learning.

Reut Una- Tsameret
On-the-job Consultant and Documentation Coordinator
Reut Una-Tsameret has a BA in international relations and an MA magna cum laude from
the Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She was the coordinator of Atidim Cadets for the Public Service, a joint leadership program of the Friends of Atidim, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Civil Service Commission, and the Finance Ministry Budget Division that emphasizes improvement of the civil service; the program trains outstanding students, mostly from the periphery, and helps them find work in the public sector after graduation. In addition, she served as an advisor to Environment Minister Prof. Yehudit Naot on environmental projects, and as public activities coordinator for Mavoi Satum, an organization for women whose husbands refuse to give them a divorce.

Shahar Bar-Yehuda
Social and Welfare Sector Manager
Mandel School of Educational Leadership graduate - cohort 17.
Shahar Bar Yehuda has a BA degree in Education and Comparative Literature and a MA degree in Management, Planning and Policy-Making in Educational Systems from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. While studying he worked as a therapist in a community home for autistic adults and as a teacher at a preschool for children with special needs.
After graduating, he continued working with the special needs community in Israel as Supported Employment Program Manager at the Israel Elwyn organization, which assists special needs adults in finding employment.
Later, Shahar joined the Israeli "Welfare-to-work" program in Jerusalem, operated by Amin (A4e-Aman). He also worked as an Employment Services Manager at Beit Ekstein, a private company that provides services for families with special needs members. In this capacity, he managed the organizational employment rehabilitation services.
Before he joined the MGU, Shahar was the chief operating officer of Alma –a home for Hebrew Culture in Tel Aviv. Shahar is currently the Social and Welfare Director at the Mandel Graduate Unit.

Sari Almog
Program Coordinator
Sari holds a BA in Liberal Arts and Italian Literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. As Head Coordinator of the Public Relations Team at the Student Authority at the Ministry of Absorption, Sari provided information and advice to students interested in studying in Israel.
Consequently Sari was the European Project Coordinator at the Keren Hayesod United Israel Appeal, managing relations with European donors. Sari later worked as the Country Coordinator for Moscow, Siberia and the Russian Far East at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in Jerusalem. In this capacity, she coordinated multiple welfare and Jewish Renewal community projects. As a Senior Coordinator of the Resource Development Department in the Israel Department at the Jewish Agency for Israel, Sari played an integral part in facilitating resource development and fostering productive interplay between Jewish Federations, agencies and private donors around the globe and the Jewish Agency. Sari worked as the Resource Development Director at the Yuri Shtern Foundation, which provides cancer patients and their caregivers with complementary medicine treatment. Sari is currently the Mandel Graduate Unit's Project Coordinator.
