Mordechay Cohen

Graduate of Cohort 8, Mandel School for Educational Leadership

Deputy Director of the Rashi Foundation and Director of the Northern Region

Mordechay Cohen holds an MA degree in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an MBA in Business Studies and Executive Educational Management from the University of Manchester.
He is also a graduate of the Program for Training Public Activists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Before joining the Mandel School for Educational Leadership program, Mr. Cohen worked with the Jewish Agency and the Hebrew University as coordinator of public functionaries training programs and also worked with the Center for Social Policies Research in Jerusalem.

Since 2001 he has served as Director of the Northern Region of the Rashi Foundation, an independent private fund dedicated to assisting underprivileged populations in Israel, with emphasis on the younger generation and on special needs populations. In this position, Mr. Cohen has been involved in finding solutions to meet the needs of the population in Israel's northern region (such as early childhood centers, frameworks for youth and adolescents, programs for enhancing family independence, and programs for increasing access to higher education); implementing programs sponsored by the Ya'adim Lazafon Organization, which operates under his direction; and developing and mobilizing partnerships.
