Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life


Clare’s mission, as Hillel's Associate Vice President for Jewish Life, is not an easy one. Hillel strives to inspire Jewish students on campuses throughout North America to commit to Jewish life, and to facilitate meaningful Jewish experiences that will help them find ways to be involved in Jewish life in the future.

Despite the numerous challenges involved in working with an enormous, extremely varied, and geographically dispersed system, Clare and her team find ways to help hundreds of local Hillels to think about and facilitate their educational programming.

“During my time at the Mandel Institute I gained a confidence in my own educational knowledge and spent quite a bit of time with the other Fellows deconstructing our assumptions about what is education. It was an important set of work that I did which gave me the background to move forward and do the other things that I do,” said Clare.
